Job Title: Manual MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team, specializing in machining large structural parts for various industrial sectors such as saw mills and paper mills. You will perform multiple setups daily in a dynamic job shop environment, ensuring precision and quality in every part machined. Responsibilities • Operate manual mills and lathes to machine large structural parts. • Perform multiple different setups daily. • Read and interpret blueprints to machine parts to specifications. • Inspect parts for quality using precision measuring tools. • Operate overhead cranes to position and load parts for machining. Essential Skills • Proficiency in operating manual mills and lathes. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Experience with precision measuring tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications • At least 3 years of experience with setup and operation of manual mills and lathes. • Possession of a personal set of basic machine shop tools. Work EnvironmentWork in a heavy industrial environment with large parts being machined. The large machine shop currently has a small team of five, but plans to double in size soon. Despite the shop's spaciousness, it is bustling with activity and has a large backlog of work. Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs. The regular shift is from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays as needed. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $83200.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Full benefits package offered including medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, Paid Holidays Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Portland,OR.
