About this role

Job Title: Press Operator (Large Presses)Job DescriptionThis role focuses on setting up and operating large presses to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You organize and prepare dies and presses with all required accessories, perform safety checks, run production according to sequence, and ensure that all parts meet quality standards and job specifications. Responsibilities • Organize and set up large presses and dies, including all accessories, fixtures, lubrication, and cushions, in a time-efficient manner. • Prepare and set up equipment before production and perform required initial safety checks. • Produce parts as assigned by the supervisor or lead person, following the specified production sequence. • Create a sample part and ensure all subsequent parts match the quality and specifications of the approved sample. • Perform periodic safety checks on equipment and work processes to maintain a safe operation. • Conduct periodic inspection of parts during production to verify quality and adherence to prints and job cards. • Record all necessary job information, including the number of parts produced, job status, and the location of finished parts. • Follow special job instructions as communicated by the supervisor or lead person or documented on the job card. • Maintain a clean, organized work area that is free of hazards and supports safe and efficient operations. • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout all work activities. • Apply basic shop math and blueprint reading skills to set up presses correctly and verify part dimensions. • Support general labor and inspection activities related to press operations as needed. Essential Skills • Strong press operator experience with large presses. • Experience setting up presses and related equipment preferred. • Proficient blueprint reading skills to interpret job cards and prints. • Basic shop math skills to verify measurements and part dimensions. • High mechanical aptitude and mechanically inclined mindset for operating and troubleshooting press equipment. • Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately. • Ability to read English to interpret job cards, prints, and safety instructions. • Safety-focused and quality-minded approach to all work. • Experience with punch press operation, machine operation, production, general labor, and inspection in a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Willingness to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). • Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks. • Comfort working with mechanical equipment and production machinery in a manufacturing environment. A clean, organized, and hazard-free work area is expected, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pineville, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
