Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on fabricating and assembling components for custom security solutions used with ammunition and explosives for the US military. You will perform MIG, Stick, Flux core, and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, as well as use plasma cutters and track torches to cut and prepare materials for fabrication. Responsibilities • Fabricate and assemble metal components for custom security solutions related to ammunition and explosives. • Perform MIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, ensuring strong, clean, and consistent welds. • Perform Flux core welding and Stick welding as required for various projects and materials. • Perform TIG welding on aluminum and other materials, following precise specifications and weld quality standards. • Interpret and work from blueprints, including welding symbols, to determine material requirements, weld types, and assembly details. • Use plasma cutters and track torches to cut and prepare materials according to project specifications. • Fit and position components accurately prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity. • Grind, clean, and finish welds and surfaces to meet quality and safety standards. • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating welding and cutting equipment. • Maintain a strong work ethic and positive attitude, contributing to a collaborative, family-oriented team environment. • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. Essential Skills • Proven MIG welding experience on mild steel and aluminum. • Hands-on experience with Flux core welding and/or Pulse MIG welding. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including welding symbols. • Practical fabrication experience, including fitting and assembly of metal components. • TIG welding experience, particularly on aluminum and other metals. • Experience using grinding tools and torches in a fabrication or welding environment. • Capability to operate plasma cutters and track torches safely and accurately. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on custom or specialized metal fabrication projects. • Comfort working with security-related or defense-oriented products. • Attention to detail in weld quality, fit-up, and finishing work. • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work from technical drawings. • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE and equipment. Work EnvironmentThis position is part of a weekend shift running from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday through Sunday, within a fabrication and welding shop environment. The setting is a hands-on, production-focused facility where safety procedures, appropriate personal protective equipment, and practical work attire suitable for welding and fabrication are expected. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Bardstown, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
