Job Title: Weld Technician (3rd Shift)Job DescriptionThis role focuses on supporting and maintaining a high-volume robotic welding operation on 3rd shift. You will work with a large fleet of MIG and spot welding robots, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality. The position requires strong hands-on technical skills in robot welding, pneumatics troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance within a stamping and welding assembly environment.Responsibilities

• Operate, support, and maintain approximately 150 MIG and spot welding robots in a high-volume production facility. • Work with Fanuc, Motoman, and ABB robotic welding systems to ensure stable and efficient operation. • Home, reset, and reteach robot points to maintain proper weld positions and quality. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pneumatics on fixtures, including verifying air compressor function, identifying blockages in lines, and replacing pneumatic hoses as needed. • Diagnose and correct issues related to sensors, fixtures, and automation equipment to minimize downtime. • Use personal tools and toolbox to perform mechanical and electrical adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery. • Support stamping and welding assembly processes, coordinating with production to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. • Adapt to mandated 12-hour workdays, Monday through Saturday, including rotating Saturdays and potential additional overtime. • Follow safety procedures and best practices in a loud, dirty, and greasy stamping environment, including proper use of safety footwear and prescription safety glasses. • Document work performed, communicate equipment status, and escalate complex issues when needed to maintain continuous production. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience on industrial machines in a manufacturing environment. • Hands-on experience with robotic welding systems, including MIG and spot welding applications. • Ability to home, reset, and reteach weld robots to maintain accurate welding positions. • Strong troubleshooting skills with pneumatic systems on fixtures, including air compressors, air lines, and hoses. • Proficiency working with Fanuc robotic systems; exposure to Motoman and ABB robots is highly valuable. • Comfort with automation and robotics in a stamping and welding assembly setting. • Ability to work mandated 12-hour days, Monday through Saturday, including rotating Saturdays. • Ownership and use of a personal toolbox suitable for industrial maintenance and robot support. • Capability to work effectively on 3rd shift (10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.), with flexibility for up to 4 hours of mandated overtime on any day of the week. • Experience in Tier 1 stamping and welding assembly operations. • Experience in automation, robotics integration, and sensor-based control systems. • Familiarity with underground conveyor systems and material handling equipment in a stamping environment. • Ability to work safely and efficiently in loud, dirty, and greasy production areas. • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently on technical issues. • Willingness to learn and grow through tuition reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities. The stamping area is loud, dirty, and greasy, with an underground conveyor running beneath the stamping presses, requiring consistent attention to safety and situational awareness. You will work on 3rd shift from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with the possibility of being mandated up to 4 additional hours on any day of the week and regular 12-hour days Monday through Saturday, including rotating Saturdays. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with heavy industrial machinery, automation systems, and welding equipment in continuous operation, and appropriate safety footwear and prescription safety glasses are expected. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Royal Oak, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.45 - $36.45/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
