Job Title: Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. In this position, you will perform a variety of production, assembly, packaging, material handling, and shipping tasks to help ensure products are completed efficiently and meet quality standards. You will work as part of a team to keep production lines running smoothly while maintaining a safe and organized work area. Responsibilities
• Support the production process by moving products efficiently through various stages of manufacturing. • Perform assembly and production tasks according to established work instructions and quality standards. • Package finished products, prepare items for shipment, and stack materials on pallets or skids. • Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the production facility. • Assist with packing, labeling, wrapping, and shipping activities. • Operate hand tools and perform basic mechanical assembly as required. • Work on different production lines and adapt to changing production needs. • Maintain production flow by ensuring workstations remain stocked with necessary materials. • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals and deadlines. • Inspect products for quality and notify supervisors of any issues. • Follow all safety procedures, policies, and manufacturing guidelines. • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. • Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. • Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed. Essential Skills
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or assembly environment. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift. • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift. • Basic experience using hand tools and production equipment. • Strong teamwork and communication skills. • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with material handling, packaging, order picking, or shipping operations. • Forklift experience or certification is a plus. • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to learn multiple positions within the production department. • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment. • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Work Environment This position is based in a large manufacturing facility producing steel cabinets and storage products. Employees work in a team-oriented production environment where duties may include assembly, packaging, material handling, palletizing, shipping preparation, and quality inspection. The facility operates in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and requires employees to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs while working around manufacturing equipment and hand tools. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
