It is designed foruse by a leadman and a crew of 2–3 framers.1. Pre‑Staging Materials• Organize all wood sleepers,fasteners, tools, and equipment at ground level.• Group wood by length andverify quantities.• Inspect tools includingSkilsaw, Sawzall, drills, and impact drivers.• Prepare lifting ropes, ladderlifts, or mechanical hoists.• Ensure all PPE is availableand worn before lifting begins.2. Transporting Materials tothe Roof• Use safe lifting methods suchas rope systems, ladder lifts, or mechanical hoists.• Lift wood in manageablebundles to prevent strain or accidents.• Transport tools in buckets ortool bags to avoid dropping hazards.• Never carry long sleepers upa ladder by hand.• Maintain communicationbetween ground crew and roof crew during lifts.3. Staging Materials on theRoof• Place sleepers close to thework zone but away from roof edges.• Lay wood flat to preventrolling or shifting.• Store tools on stablesurfaces and keep fasteners in containers.• Avoid blocking roof drainagepaths.• Keep the staging areaorganized to reduce trip hazards.4. Organizing for Workflow• Stack sleepers in the orderthey will be installed.• Designate a cutting area forSkilsaw and Sawzall operations.• Keep drills, impact drivers,and lag bolts near layout lines.• Maintain clear walking pathsfor crew movement.• Ensure layout tools (chalkline, tape measure) are easily accessible.5. Safety RequirementsDuring Material Handling• Use fall protection whenworking near roof edges.• Keep the roof free of loosedebris and scattered fasteners.• Secure tools when not in useto prevent sliding.• Follow proper liftingtechniques to avoid injury.• Maintain awareness of weatherconditions that may affect footing or material stability. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
