Job Title: Quality InspectorJob DescriptionThe Quality Inspector performs first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision aerospace components, including CNC-machined and electro-mechanical parts. This role ensures products meet engineering specifications and industry standards by interpreting technical drawings and GD&T, maintaining accurate quality records, and supporting compliance with AS9100 and ITAR requirements.Responsibilities
• Perform first article inspections on aerospace components, including CNC-machined and electro-mechanical parts, to verify conformance to engineering requirements. • Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing to identify and address quality issues before final production. • Carry out final inspections to ensure completed parts meet all specifications and quality standards before release. • Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformity. • Use ERP and MES systems to accurately record inspection results, track quality data, and manage non-conformances. • Assist with audit preparation and support by organizing, reviewing, and maintaining quality documentation and records. • Maintain and monitor calibration status for inspection tools and gauges such as micrometers and calipers to ensure measurement accuracy. • Uphold AS9100 quality management requirements and ITAR compliance in all inspection and documentation activities. • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to communicate inspection findings and support continuous improvement. • Work proactively in a fast-paced environment, managing inspection priorities and meeting production schedules. Essential Skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or working in an aerospace machine shop. • Hands-on experience with first article inspection for aerospace components. • Proficiency in in-process and final inspection of precision machined and electro-mechanical parts. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to inspections. • Experience with quality control processes in an aerospace manufacturing environment. • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system requirements. • Understanding of ITAR-related compliance in a manufacturing or inspection setting. • Proficient use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers. • Ability to use ERP and MES systems to document inspection results and manage non-conformances. • Strong organizational skills for document control and maintaining accurate quality records. • Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Two positions are available on first shift with a 6:00 a.m. start time, and one position is available on second shift with a 2:00 p.m. start time. The team operates on a 4/10 schedule once in a direct role, providing extended days off each week. Work involves regular use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers, as well as ERP and MES systems for documentation and quality tracking. The facility offers break periods with access to free soda and snacks, contributing to a comfortable and supportive workplace. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
