Job Title: Travel Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer&Excavator)Location: Roxoboro, North CarolinaPay: 30+per diem (Overtime available) Job DescriptionThis role focuses on operating an excavator on large-scale ash basin closure projects, supporting high-production excavation and material handling activities. You will work in active construction environments at power plant sites, moving coal ash, soil, rock, and other materials as part of environmental remediation and heavy civil construction efforts. *THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ROXBORO, NORTH CAROLINA*Responsibilities

• Operate an excavator safely and efficiently on large-scale ash basin closure projects. • Excavate, load, and move coal ash, soil, rock, and other materials while meeting production targets. • Primarily load off-road haul trucks with ash and other materials for transport and disposal across the project site. • Perform high-volume excavation work in active construction environments with multiple pieces of heavy equipment operating nearby. • Execute heavy production excavation and mass earthmoving operations in support of environmental remediation and ash pond closure activities. • Handle coal ash and other materials in accordance with safety, quality, and environmental compliance standards. • Work effectively in production-driven work environments, maintaining consistent dirt-moving output and meeting schedule expectations. • Perform excavation in wet or unstable ground conditions, adjusting techniques to maintain safety and precision. • Use grade control and precision excavation methods to achieve required grades, slopes, and fine grading specifications. • Operate dozers and related heavy equipment as needed to support earthworks and heavy civil construction tasks. • Conduct pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance on assigned machinery. • Maintain situational awareness and safe operation around active haul routes, off-road haul trucks, and other heavy equipment. • Follow site-specific safety protocols and environmental remediation procedures throughout daily operations. • Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and other crew members to coordinate excavation and hauling activities. • Adapt to changing site conditions and work plans while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating excavators in heavy production excavation settings. • Demonstrated ability to work safely around active haul routes and multiple pieces of construction equipment. • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation, including excavators and dozers, in earthworks and civil construction environments. • Experience in ash basin closure projects, environmental remediation, landfills, mining, dredging, or other large-scale earthmoving operations. • Strong skills in coal ash handling and material movement, including loading and moving high volumes of material. • Proficiency in off-road haul truck loading, ensuring safe and efficient truck filling and cycle times. • Experience with mass earthmoving operations and production-driven dirt moving work. • Ability to perform grade control and precision excavation, including fine grading and working with long-reach and track hoe equipment. • Comfort working in excavation environments that may involve wet or unstable ground conditions. • Knowledge of safe operation practices around heavy equipment and active construction sites. • Capability to perform equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance on heavy machinery. • Reliability and stamina to work extended hours in a high-production environment while maintaining safety and quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience on ash pond closure projects is highly preferred. • Experience on environmental remediation projects, landfills, mining operations, or dredging projects is strongly beneficial. • Experience in heavy civil construction and large-scale earthworks projects. • Familiarity with long-reach excavators, track hoes, and fine grading techniques. • Comfort working in production-driven work environments with significant overtime. • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a coordinated field team. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
