About this role

Job Title: Exterior Wood Technician Job DescriptionThis role focuses on exterior refurbishment work at a residential complex, including patching stucco, replacing damaged exterior wood components as needed, and performing light painting to restore and improve the appearance and durability of the property.Responsibilities

• Patch and repair exterior stucco surfaces to a clean, durable finish. • Inspect exterior wood elements and replace damaged or deteriorated sections as needed. • Perform light painting and paint preparation on repaired stucco and wood surfaces. • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for carpentry and stucco repair tasks. • Measure, cut, and install wood materials accurately using tape measures and other tools. • Assist with finish carpentry tasks, including cabinetry-related work when required. • Prepare work areas by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and masking surfaces before painting. • Work in teams of two to refurbish vacant apartments’ exterior areas in a timely manner. • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition. • Follow instructions, safety guidelines, and project specifications consistently. • Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate daily tasks and project priorities. • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and accept training on unfamiliar tasks. Essential Skills

• Experience with stucco repair and patching on exterior surfaces. • Carpentry skills with the ability to work with exterior wood structures and components. • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. • Experience with wood and stucco repairs, including removal and replacement of damaged materials. • Ability to perform paint preparation, including sanding, scraping, and masking. • Rough carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, and basic installation. • Ability to use a tape measure accurately for cutting and layout. • Basic cabinetry or finish carpentry experience. • Must have appropriate tools for wood and stucco work. • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and a consistently positive attitude. • Openness to training on additional carpentry, stucco, and painting techniques. • Comfort working in a team of two and collaborating on daily refurbishment tasks. • Reliability in maintaining schedule and completing assigned work within shift hours. • Attention to detail in finishing work to a clean, professional standard. • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines on job sites. The work is performed outdoors and around building exteriors, using a variety of hand and power tools for stucco repair, carpentry, and light painting. The environment is hands-on and task-focused, with an expectation of safe tool use, adherence to site safety practices, and maintaining a neat, professional appearance appropriate for working in occupied residential communities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buena Park, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
