Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThe General Production Worker supports daily operations in a frozen food manufacturing facility by performing a wide range of general labor tasks. This role works primarily on 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with encouraged overtime. The position operates in refrigerated and freezer environments and focuses on material handling, sanitation, packaging support, palletizing, and other labor-intensive duties while consistently maintaining safety, quality, and food safety standards. Responsibilities • Perform general labor duties throughout the facility as assigned to support production and warehouse operations. • Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products between work areas in a safe and efficient manner. • Stack, sort, organize, and palletize products and materials to ensure orderly storage and shipment. • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, materials, and deliveries to support shipping and receiving activities. • Maintain clean and organized production, warehouse, and storage areas to support safety and efficiency. • Remove trash, scrap materials, and other waste from work areas and dispose of them according to company procedures. • Assist with sanitation and cleaning of equipment, workstations, and facility areas to meet food safety and cleanliness standards. • Support production teams by supplying materials, staging products, and removing completed pallets from work areas. • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as trained and in accordance with safety guidelines. • Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), OSHA regulations, and food safety procedures at all times. • Work safely and effectively in refrigerated and freezer environments as required by production and warehouse needs. • Report damaged products, safety concerns, and equipment issues promptly to supervisors or appropriate personnel. • Assist with inventory movement, storage, and general facility support duties to maintain accurate stock and efficient operations. • Support team members and other departments as needed to help meet daily and weekly operational goals. • Adapt to changing priorities and perform other duties as assigned to support overall facility performance. Essential Skills • Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments for extended periods. • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks for the duration of the workday. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and dependable attendance. • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team. • Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and quality standards. • Strong attention to detail when handling products, materials, and equipment. • Ability to identify safety hazards, quality concerns, or damaged materials and report issues promptly. • Basic problem-solving skills related to material movement and general labor activities. • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate and consistent work practices. • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions. • Ability to follow safety policies, GMP requirements, and company procedures with minimal supervision. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and daily operational needs across various departments. • Ability to make sound decisions regarding material handling, workplace safety, and task completion. • Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members regarding operational or safety concerns. • Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards while performing routine and repetitive tasks. • Demonstrated dependability and accountability in completing assigned responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in a general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment is preferred but not required. • Experience working in refrigerated, freezer, or other temperature-controlled environments is a plus. • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced setting. • Willingness to assist in multiple areas of the facility as operational needs change. • Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and repetitive tasks for extended periods. • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production and distribution environment. • Flexibility to support sanitation, material handling, and general facility duties as needed. • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain productivity in a dynamic work environment. Daily activities involve regular lifting, carrying, stacking, and material handling duties, often using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment. The environment is fast-paced and focused on maintaining food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency. You are required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear as needed to ensure safety and comfort in cold areas. The typical schedule is 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime encouraged, and includes 15-minute breaks approximately every two hours. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
