Machine Operator – Braider (2nd Shift) Wire & Cable Manufacturing Plant – York, PA🏭 Role Overview Operate specialized wire and cable manufacturing equipment, including braiders, printing machines, and rewind machines. You’ll set up, feed, monitor, and inspect products while learning multiple machines through structured cross‑training. This role fits someone with mechanical aptitude, comfort with physical work, and interest in hands‑on production. 🔧 Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate braiding, printing, rewind, and related machines. • Load spools/reels and ensure proper alignment and secure placement. • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain quality. • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using tape measures, calipers, and hand tools. • Troubleshoot minor issues; escalate complex problems to maintenance. • Unload finished products and move spools/reels safely throughout the shift. • Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and production documentation. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper tool/material storage. • Cross‑train on additional machines to support broader production needs. • Work safely in a loud, non‑climate‑controlled environment. 🛠️ Essential Skills
• Manufacturing or machine‑operation experience. • Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable with tools and machinery. • Ability to read/use a tape measure accurately. • Basic inspection and quality‑check familiarity. • Physically able to push, pull, lift, load, and unload spools/reels. • Reliable work history with consistent tenure. • Willingness to work 2nd shift (Mon–Thu, 4 PM–2 AM). • Ability to complete initial training on 1st shift (6 AM–4 PM). ➕ Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with wire, cable, or similar manufacturing equipment. • Exposure to CNC or automated machinery. • Ability to read basic blueprints or production drawings. • Experience using calipers and precision measuring tools. • Basic troubleshooting ability. • Experience in mechanical, industrial supply, or tool‑related roles. 🌟 Why Work Here

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
