Job Title: Production Supervisor – Flint AssemblyJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor leads a high-volume manufacturing operation within a fast-paced automotive assembly environment. This role oversees daily production activities, drives safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance, and ensures that teams consistently meet or exceed production schedules and quality standards. The supervisor builds and develops high-performing hourly teams, manages change and ambiguity, and applies lean manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement and built-in quality initiatives.Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations, adjusting plans as needed to meet production, cost, and schedule objectives. • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance with a strong focus on SPQRCE metrics. • Oversee production activities, including quality inspections, problem-solving, and built-in quality initiatives to ensure all processes meet required standards. • Train, develop, and evaluate hourly team members to build and sustain high-performing teams. • Motivate employees by reinforcing standardized work methods and ensuring adequate Job Instruction Training (JIT). • Coach, counsel, and mentor other Group Leaders to promote consistent leadership practices across the operation. • Lead and support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as a resource for launch and pilot activities. • Apply lean and synchronous manufacturing principles and implement systems that prevent recurrence of known issues. • Maintain awareness of established quality standards and expectations, ensuring adherence throughout the production process. • Understand and consistently administer National and Local UAW Agreements while supporting a respectful, compliant work environment. • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including ergonomics and housekeeping, and maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free workplace. • Ensure effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment to support continuous improvement in material flow and supply chain efficiency. • Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to sustain performance. • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process improvement, variation reduction, and quality control. • Meet production schedules, cost targets, and quality requirements in a high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. • Support launch and pilot production activities for new or updated products and processes as needed. Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree is ideal for direct placement. • At least 2 years of experience leading teams of approximately 20 or more employees in a manufacturing, production, or supply chain environment. • Demonstrated experience supervising hourly employees, including training, developing, and evaluating team performance. • Experience working in a unionized environment, ideally with UAW teams, and the ability to administer union agreements consistently. • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and variation reduction techniques. • Proven ability to meet production schedules, cost targets, and quality requirements in a high-volume setting. • Ability to promote and enforce safe work practices, including safety, ergonomics, and housekeeping standards. • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and typing. • Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends, including openness to all shifts in a 24/7 operation. • Demonstrated leadership skills in supervision, performance management, conflict resolution, and accountability. • Experience in continuous improvement, process improvement, and production supervision. • Ability to manage change and ambiguity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred and may be required regardless of experience. • Experience with UAW environments is ideal but not strictly required. • Familiarity with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) or similar manufacturing operating systems. • Prior experience supporting launch or pilot production activities in manufacturing. • Experience in automotive manufacturing or other high-volume production environments. • Exposure to built-in quality initiatives and methodologies such as DFSS or Red X certification. • Knowledge of timekeeping systems and workforce scheduling tools. • Experience in safety, project scheduling, and leadership development. • Experience in quality control, material flow, and supply chain efficiency within manufacturing operations. The facility manages engine assembly, machining, and quality checks, integrating components from multiple casting operations to deliver high-quality products on time and to strict cost and quality targets. The environment is fast-paced, unionized, and focused on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and built-in quality. Operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and shift assignments can be on any shift, determined after hire. Team members are expected to be open to working all shifts, significant overtime, and 6–7 days per week as needed, including arriving approximately 30 minutes before the start of each shift. The workplace emphasizes strict safety standards, ergonomics, housekeeping, and maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free production floor, with a professional, compliant, and respectful atmosphere. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Flint, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
