About this role
As a Heavy Civil Construction Laborer , you will work under the direction of the Foreman and perform a variety of construction-related tasks. This includes heavy lifting, digging, equipment cleaning, site preparation, pipe system assembly, and operating construction tools and equipment. Digging, spreading, and leveling dirt, sand and gravel with a pick, shovel, or rake. Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools. Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe. Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipe. Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in the excavation of pipes. Must be able to climb on, off, and under various pieces of equipment, and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety Manager. Other duties as assigned.
