About this role
The Heavy Civil Construction Pipelayer will be responsible for laying and repairing water, stormwater, and sewer pipelines while ensuring that all tasks are performed safely and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong commitment to safety. Set proper grades and elevations, including flowline, grade stick, and string line. Check slopes for conformance to grading elevations using levels or lasers. Connect the bell, spigot, sewer, and water pipelines. Cover pipes with aggregate and native material and compact as necessary. Hand dig bell holes to verify existing utility locations. Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools. Install and repair water, stormwater, sewer structures and pipe systems within trench shoring shields. Lay out pipe routes following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors. Take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers. Work safely while adhering to Rangeline requirements and OSHA regulations. Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time.
