About this role
The role of MOJ / OICP Handler is to effectively manage a portfolio of litigated MOJ and OICP quantum files. The role will involve dealing with quantum cases efficiently and proactively whilst utilising effective telephone negotiation techniques to obtain the appropriate settlement. The jobholder will be responsible for setting reserves and strategy on new instructions and dealing with all technical aspects of the file including assessing general and special damages, negotiation, and drafting of court documents and brief to Counsel. Reviewing, reporting and setting reserves and strategy on new instructions: Completing an initial review file note Identifying any technical issues with the file and handling appropriately Valuing general and special damages on all cases and setting negotiation parameters where needed. Filing AoS Preparing brief to Counsel Updating reserves upon receipt of evidence as required. Meeting agreed performance targets Adhering to Client Guidelines Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011
