Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and supportive team at Downton Surgery.

Working closely with the Practice nursing team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality care, supporting a wide range of clinical services and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is an excellent oppurtunity for an experienced HCA looking to develop their career within Primary care.

Main duties of the job

Provide a high quality phlebotomy serviceUndertake NHS Health Checks and routine health assessmentsRecord base line observations and ECG'sAssist with wound care, infection prevention and controlProcess Laboratory samples and maintain accurate clinical records Chaperone patients during clinical examinations where requiredMaintain vaccine cold chai records and monitor clinical equipment

Restock clinical rooms and maintain medical suppliesSupport health promotion initiatives and patient educationWork collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team

Managing our own clinics which will include wound care, phlebotomy and Long term conditions.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Phlebotomy Certificate Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and IT skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care Understanding of confidentiality and information governance

Desirable

Previous experience working within General Practice Experience using SystmOne Experience undertaking NHS Health Checks Compression and advanced wound care knowledge
