Job summary
Walton Medical Centre are currently looking to recruit a GP Assistant to join growing team offered on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week. This is a post developed to deliver better outcomes for patients by Supporting GPs within appointments and with necessary paperwork.
Main duties of the job
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow up appointments of patients Undertaking any urgent observations as requested by the clinical team Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc Explaining treatment procedures to patients Support the GP with immunisations/wound care Home BP readings Practice supply ordering including Injections and Ring Pessaries Diabetes monitoring Child ADHD medication review observations Support IPC Lead Travel vaccines ordering stock, checking when it arrives and liaising with Rec for appointments
About us
Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. They have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 Partners and 2 salaried GPs, the Practice team also includes a Pharmacy technician, paramedic, a Nursing team of 8 and an efficient and effective Reception and Administrative team of 10.
