In this engaging position, you will assist Dispensary Manager and team by preparing and dispensing prescriptions, managing medication inventories, and providing exceptional patient care. Main duties of the job
Accurately dispense prescribed medication ensuring correct dosage and labelling. Assist with medication administration procedures, including preparing and delivering medications to patients or healthcare providers. Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and recording medication stock movements diligently. Provide friendly and professional patient care by answering questions about medications, usage instructions, and safety precautions. Maintain detailed records of dispensed medications, patient interactions, and inventory transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Support the Dispensary team during busy periods by organizing supplies and assisting with administrative tasks as needed. Follow all safety protocols and hygiene standards to uphold a secure and clean dispensary environment.
About us
Winstree Medical Practice have two sites, Winstree Road in Stanway and Malting Green Road, in Layer De La Haye. We are a semi-rural surgery with a patient list of 9000 and growing. We are part of a well lead PCN which provides us with a varied team of clinicians to work within our surgery.
Our overarching objective is to deliver the highest standard of care. We work collaboratively with colleagues in the NHS, public and community services to make as much of an impact to improving patient access and care. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Prior experience as a pharmacy/ GP dispensary required qualified to NVQ2 or higher
Experience Essential
Familiarity with medication administration processes and pharmacy software systems is advantageous. Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills to effectively assist diverse populations. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings. Demonstrated understanding of Dispensary regulations, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
