We have an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team based at theKing Street Walk in Centre, Wakefield.
What the Role Offers
This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within a supportive and experienced urgent care team. You will assess, diagnose, treat, refer and safely discharge patients presenting with minor illnesses and undifferentiated minor injuries, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within agreed clinical guidelines.
You will join an established ACP-led service where clinical support and supervision are available on site. The role also includes providing mentorship and leadership to trainee and peer practitioners, supporting professional development and contributing to a positive working environment.
Pay Rates
In Hours (Mon-Fri, 08:00-18:00): £29.89 per hour Out of Hours (Mon-Fri, 18:00-08:00 and weekends): £38.86 per hour Approximate full-time salary: £56,589 to £64,118, depending on shift pattern Location: King Street Walk in Centre, 47 King Street, Wakefield, WF1 2SN.
Hours: Full and part-time opportunities are available. The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from 10:00 to 22:00. Shifts are worked on a 4-week rolling rota.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, treat, refer and safely discharge patients presenting with minor illness or injury. Communicate effectively with patients, carers and professionals to support seamless care. Provide clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively with internal and external healthcare partners. Deliver evidence-based care in line with agreed guidelines, protocols and governance standards. Maintain professional development through training, supervision, teaching, mentoring and revalidation. Keep high-quality patient care central to clinical decision-making on every shift. We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated candidates who demonstrate the key attributes of advanced clinical practice. Applicants must be qualified ACPs with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The ideal candidate will have urgent care or primary care experience, including caring for adults and children. They will assess and manage minor illness and injury, identify differential diagnoses, initiate appropriate treatment and deliver evidence-based care to a high standard.
We also welcome applications from ACP candidates who may need further training to develop urgent care or primary care skills and knowledge.
