About this role

Job summary

This appointment is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery to start as soon as possible. The post is based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage and you would be expected to participate on a 1:7 on call rota.

This is a fantastic opportunity within Vascular Surgery department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust for the successful candidate to gain experience of working in a busy department. The successful candidate will have opportunities to further their surgical knowledge through exposure to clinics, operating lists, ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and formal teaching. The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings. Although, this post is not recognised for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development within the role.

Main duties of the job

o The post will be a balance of outpatient, day case and inpatient operating duties.o The appointed post holder will participate on a 1:7 on-call rota.o To participate in the department's teaching, audit, and educational activities

Person Specification

Qualifications / Training Essential

Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council

Desirable

MRCS or equivalent Advanced Life Support Certificate or equivalent

Previous Experience Essential

Evidence of achievement of ST2,CT2 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post.

NHS experience

Knowledge Essential

Demonstrate understanding of basic principles of audit, evidence based practice and clinical quality improvement initiatives
