About this role

Job summary

Come and join our busy and friendly radiology department at London North West University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will be required to fully participate in the service provision. You will be required to participate in all out of hours services

The post holder will need to demonstrate expertise and knowledge in Radiology and should hold a cannulating certificate.

Specialty modality experience is essential for this post.

The role also requires good communication skills, multidisciplinary teamworking and the ability to supervise and train other staff and students.

You will be expected to work a combination of days Monday to Sunday in and out of hours including nights/ on call. CT/Cath lab/IR experience required.

Main duties of the job

To work within a team of radiographic and clerical staff within the Trust.

To provide a high standard of expertise and care, and lead areas of the department in the absence of the Modality Superintendent.

To provide a diagnostic imaging service in areas where trained both in and out of normal working hours and help facilitate learning for students and less experienced staff.Only candidates with the legal right to work in UK will be considered.

Person Specification

Education/qualification Essential

Current HCPC Registration BSc or equivalent in radiography

Desirable

Attendance at relevant study days and courses. Audit experience

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Experience of A&E, theatre and out of hours work Good knowledge of all general aspects of radiography & evidence of CPD CT, IR, MRI experience

Desirable

Experience of teaching and training students and other new members of staff NAI experience

Skills and abilities Essential

Good written & verbal communication Ability to teach & lead others Ability to use initiative Understanding of team work Ability to manual handle

Desirable

Knowledge of QA testing RPS Trained Member of a specialist Imaging Group such as TIG, GIRSIG or Association of Paediatric Radiographers
