Join our brand new Surgical Assessment Unit team at Charing Cross Hospital.
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse , you will be at the absolute forefront of this new service launch. Working as part of a nursing team under the leadership of the Unit Matron, you will high quality nursing care to surgical patients, supervise junior staff, and drive efficient patient flow through a fast-paced environment. This is a rare opportunity to shape a newly formed multidisciplinary team, build a collaborative culture from the ground up, and establish clinical excellence in acute surgical care.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our SAU team at the beginning of this exciting venture.You will be passionate about delivering safe, high-quality nursing care within a fast paced, evolving and exciting area of acute surgical services. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the enthusiasm to be part of a forward thinking and innovative nursing team.

Main duties of the job
Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision. Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based. Individualised patient care. Organise one's own work load ensuring most effective use of time. Assist in the orientation of new staff and students. Ensure that nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures. Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested. Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants and students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes. To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice. Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the senior sister or charge nurse.
