About this role

Job summary

The Operational Estates department at Ysbyty Gwynedd is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Multi Skilled Building Craftsperson-Joiner, the successful candidate will be based at Ysbyty Gwynedd but may be asked to attend sites in the community under our control This rare opportunity offers an individual the experience of working within a large healthcare estate.

You will have gained qualifications and previous experience within a Joinery role , the role is to assist with the maintenance of the Health Board's property across the West and will participate in an on call rota to cover Bank Holiday periods

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Multi-Skilled Building Craftsperson (Joiner), Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic self motivated Multi-Skilled Building Craftsperson (Joiner) to work within a large organisation. You will have gained experience within the building craft environment.

You should have experience in joinery and wood working duties and must be able to work on own initiative.

The successful candidate will be working at different locations and departments under our control in the West

You should have completed a formal craft apprenticeship in a Building discipline and preferably have attained an academic qualification to NVQ Level 3 / Higher National Certificate.

Qualifications Essential

Indentured Building Craft Apprenticeship. ? Advanced Building Craft Certificate or equivalent. ? NVQ level 3. ? HNC/HND or equivalent level of knowledge and/or experience

Desirable

Evidence of Continued Personal Development. ? JIB Registration. ? Wood Machining Safety certificate. ? Advanced Module Certificate in fire door repair and maintenance.

Experience Essential

Significant experience of working within a multi skilled building service industry with more than one area of craft discipline. ? Completion of a structured training programme in building services. ? Experience of working with woodworking machinery (Bench saws, planers etc)

Desirable

Previous experience of working within the NHS. ? Multi-disciplinary experience across a range of building trades.

Skills Essential

Excellent communication skills. Willing to develop individual knowledge ? Ability to work unsupervised

Desirable

Motivation and persuasive skills ? Welsh Speaking ? IT/Keyboard skills

Knowledge Essential

Higher level of knowledge and understanding of building maintenance construction/services/syst ems and a working knowledge of multi skilled associated trades. Familiarity with approved guidance documents.

Desirable

Knowledge of Health & Safety. HTMs, Building Regulations and ACoPs. ? Manual Handling Training ? Working at Height training

Personal qualities Essential

Highly motivated, enthusiastic, conscientious and resourceful. ? Participate in on-call duties ? Available to undertake overtime

Experience in team leading.

OTHER RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS Essential

Ability to work to deadlines and emergency responses. ? Ability to work as part of a team. ? Hold a current driving licence - works van provided.
