Fixed term for 9 months (Maternity Cover) - Secondment will be considered

Salary: £29,970 - £36,483 per annum pro rata

Main duties of the job

An Opportunity has arisen for compassionate, dynamic and motivated nurse who is patient focused to join our 8 bedded ITU/HDU here at George Eliot Hospital. The Trust aims to deliver safe, high quality care and ensures a positive patient experience.

As part of our team you will represent the Trust in delivering nursing care in line with the Trust Values and treat all staff/colleagues, patients, families, and visitors with respect and dignity. Working under the direction of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide and maintain effective clinical assessment to ensure that patient care is planned and evaluated.

The successful candidate will benefit from an orientation and induction programme run by our Critical Care Educator. Staff follow an education pathway, which is competency based (using the Critical Care national competency framework) and will have the opportunity to undertake a Critical Care course in conjunction with a University. Our unit is exciting and supportive where you will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled, dynamic and friendly team.

Job description Job responsibilities

Clinical

Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base to maintain patient safety and provide a good patient experience. Undertake record and interpret patient observations, ensuring that the nurse in charge is informed of any changes in the patients condition and action taken. Work within the Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with N.M.C. Guidance. Create and utilise opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care. Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
