About this role

Job summary

We are recruiting autonomous Locum ACPs and ANPs to support same-day acute clinics at a GP surgery in Cleckheaton.

Working within the practice, you will assess and manage undifferentiated acute presentations, make rapid clinical assessments and differential diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatment. This role will provide timely, safe and effective care for patients requiring same-day appointments.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Acute Care: Deliver face-to-face and up two Home visisting clinical assessments for same-day urgent presentations.

Prescribing: Issue prescriptions and manage acute care plans as an Independent Prescriber (V300).

Triage & Referrals: Prioritize urgent cases and coordinate onward referrals to secondary or community care services.

System Practice: Maintain real-time clinical notes on primary care systems (SystmOne)Professional Standards: Adhere to national clinical guidelines, local NHS safeguarding protocols, and your professional bodys code of conduct.

About the Role

Were looking for experienced ACPs, ANPs and Advanced Paramedics to join a well-established GP surgery in Cleckheaton, working within their Same Day / Acute Care clinics. This is a steady block booking, ideal for clinicians wanting consistent hours and a supportive environment.

Youll be assessing, diagnosing, treating and prescribing for patients presenting with same-day and acute conditions. Youll work autonomously but also as part of a friendly, collaborative practice team.

As part of the role, you may also be required to complete up to two home visits during the clinic, depending on the needs of the practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Essential criteria Registered healthcare professional (e.g., Nurse, Paramedic, etc.) Current professional registration with the relevant governing body (NMC, HCPC, Masters level qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice (or working towards it). Independent Prescriber

Desirable

Qualified ACP or ANP Independent Prescriber Experience working in GP or primary care settings Confident managing acute, undifferentiated presentations Comfortable working autonomously
