Job summary
The Tolsey Surgery sits at the heart of the beautiful Cotswold village of Sherston and aims to provide "first class healthcare on your doorstep". We are a dispensing practice who serve a rural community of 3300 patients.
The Surgery is situated within easy reach of Bath, Bristol and Swindon. We are a teaching and training practice who have strong links with the University of Bristol and the Severn Deanery. We are actively working alongside Wiltshire Council, Sherston Parish and the ICB to deliver a new surgery for the village. The Partners and the successful candidate will be a vital part of this exciting process.
As our current manager is having to relocate due to family reasons, we are seeking to appoint a warm, friendly and dedicated Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of the surgery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a background in human resources, financial management and healthcare services and be keen to work collaboratively with the Partners and our Primary Care Network

About us
We are a small friendly team consisting of two GP partners, GP retainer, GP registrar, nursing team, reception/admin teams and dispensary team.
We also employ clinical pharmacists, paramedics and a living well team through our PCN. We are part of the North Wiltshire Border PCN which includes ourselves, Malmesbury Primary Care Centre, Purton Surgery, Cricklade Surgery, New Court Surgery and Tinkers Lane Surgery.

Job description Job responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service delivery. Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and compliance with CQC, NHS and industry regulations. Drive change management initiatives to enhance practice performance and patient care. Organize regular practice, clinical, financial and training meetings. Coordinate with Partners, GPs, Nursing and other staff to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Lead staff whilst fostering a positive work environment and ensuring staff are supported, motivated, and able to perform to their best abilities. Ensure excellent communication in the practice, ensuring that people know what is happening and why. Encourage good communication between all colleagues. Oversee human resources functions such as recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations. Implement financial management practices including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, expense tracking and financial reporting to ensure the practice's profitability and maximizing income. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accurate, timely submission of financial records, accounts, pensions, and all staff benefits. Help organise Rotas and Staff leave. Liaise and coordinate with IT to ensure the smooth running of the practice. Manage inventory control for medical supplies and equipment to maintain adequate stock level whilst promptly addressing any issues with premises or facilities to ensure they are kept to a good and clean standard.

Experience Essential
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively with staff and patients Strong leadership and strategic planning skills to lead a diverse team effectively Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. A passion for excellent patient care and commitment to providing an outstanding service in a GP surgery environment
Desirable
Educated to a degree level in healthcare or business (desirable) Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting. Strong knowledge of human resources practices and financial management principles
