Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative, tech-savvy individual to join University Hospitals Birmingham's Clinical Education team as a Digital Media Content Officer (TEL). This is a unique role on a daily basis you'll produce high-quality video, photography, graphic design, audio and VR content that directly enhances clinical teaching, learning and assessment across UHB.
We use a broad range of technology-enhanced learning, you'll partner with clinical, academic and governance teams to build engaging e-learning packages, support live-streamed and hybrid teaching, and help shape how staff learn and develop across one of the UK's largest NHS Trusts.

Main duties of the job
You'll apply specialist skills in video production, photography, graphic design, audio and VR to create engaging educational assets and multi-platform media resources. Day-to-day, you'll design and maintain interactive e-learning packages on platforms such as Moodle, support distance/hybrid/in-situ teaching and live-streaming, and help develop innovative tools including mixed reality and interactive media.
You'll provide expert media and technical guidance to colleagues, ensuring content meets accessibility, brand and clinical quality standards, and take responsibility for maintaining video, photography, lighting and audio equipment. You'll also deliver training, workshops and CPD to help staff make the best use of digital technology.
We're looking for someone with a degree (or equivalent experience) in a digital creative or software design field, strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility, resilience and creativity to thrive in a fast-paced clinical education environment.

Qualifications Essential
A Degree in a digital creative field \ software design or related field in digital\innovation within healthcare.
Desirable
Post graduate Level qualification in digital technology related subject or willingness to work toward. Evidence of ongoing and relevant additional professional development activities Project management / Agile working familiarity
Experience Essential
Experience of working in an NHS or Educational Setting Knowledge of the use of digital technology in education or healthcare Industry experience in the provision and support of emerging & digital technology (to include XR, video, digital media production) Affinity for connecting technology with creative and enjoyable experiences. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, , and SharePoint). Solid project planning, organisational and multi-tasking skills.
Desirable
Significant experience within digital learning / software program integration and management. Creative and technical knowledge of content creation in immersive media (such as interactive 360 video) and/or 3D environments and asset creation (such as within Unity) Previous hands on experience with the featured technologies, such as XR, 3D Modelling/Illustration Experience of participating in audit and research programmes and processes
Additional Criteria Essential
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (namely Premiere, After Effects). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to support and resolve any needs on the use and adaptation of digital technologies. Advanced organisational and communication skills. Role will be required to present and run workshops. Work collaboratively with others. Able to write / produce accurate, clear written and verbal reports and presentations within the service. Flexibility in approach and attitude with proven ability in prioritising workload in the face of competing demands High level of work organisation , self-motivation and drive for improvement Open and honest style with strong personal integrity Personal resilience in dealing with frequent distractions, interruptions and challenging situations Possess strong attention to detail, while keeping track of progress Ability to think quickly & creatively and identify urgent educational and technical solutions Ability to populate and use excel and other current key IT and digital learning systems and platforms Able to work in fast-paced and dynamic educational and clinical environments comfortably Previous experience in working with and having deep interest in digital and creative technology. Flexible in approach to working / Shift patterns. Ability to travel across all UHB sites.
