Job summary
The Senior Network Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the operational management of corporate and primary care networks spanning multiple on premises datacentres as well as many sites across the NHS North East London ICB region. This role is a highly skilled technical role, requiring strong troubleshooting skills and an eye for detail. The role requires experience with various technologies and tools such as Cisco ACI, Cisco routing and switching, FortiManager, FortiAnalyser, FortiAuthenicator, FortiNac, FortiAPs, FortiSwitches, SD-Wan, Layer2/3 routing and switching, Netbox, IPAM, Solarwinds, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, PowerShell, Python, Azure networking.
This role is a senior role, as such mentoring of junior employees is required, as well as communication of complex technical tasks to non-technical colleagues and customers. Occasional requirement to provide team leadership when line management is on leave, as well as leadership in ITIL processes such as Change Management, Major Incident Management and Problem management.

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area Cisco / Fortinet Routing and Switching Certification (CCNP / NSE4)

Experience Essential
Experience in Operational Management of Cisco and Fortinet Network Infrastructure Significant Experience in Cisco and Fortinet Hardware and Technology Stack Experience with enterprise Firewalls as part of an SDWAN Experience with Cisco ACI Hardware and Technology Stack Significant experience supporting and managing a network infrastructure in an enterprise environment. Significant Experience in providing specialist, professional technical support and guidance to peers and colleagues. Complex Configuration, administration, planning, design, implementation and management of Network Infrastructure & Security i.e.: Routers, Firewalls (inc IPS, IDS), Switches, Wi-Fi, NAC WAN, SDWAN, Accelerations, Remote Access solutions, Licensing. Experience with integrating on-prem networks with Azure Experience managing a corporate data center and associated technologies Experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments Experience of managing risks and reporting
