This is a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week over three days, with the following working pattern:

Main duties of the job
Candidates will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, together with a good level of computer literacy. We are looking for a motivated, proactive and reliable individual who is able to work accurately, manage their workload effectively and use their own initiative when required. The successful candidate will be keen to learn, committed to delivering a high standard of work and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience within a GP practice or healthcare setting would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Job description Job responsibilities
Review, prepare and organise incoming patient medical records, including both paper records and GP2GP electronic transfers, in accordance with the Practice Summarising Policy.Cull, sort and assess patient records and correspondence in preparation for clinical summarising.Accurately summarise and Read Code relevant medical history into patient records, ensuring consistency, accuracy and completeness.Organise and maintain patient medical records, harmonising problem titles, grouping symptom development appropriately and assigning the correct status to medical information.Provide administrative support for referral management and referral-related correspondence.Process Subject Access Requests (SARs) in accordance with practice procedures and data protection legislation.Manage requests for medical reports and supporting information, including DVLA, insurance, solicitor, adoption and fostering, military, occupational health and benefit-related reports, including PIP.Liaise with GPs, external organisations and healthcare providers regarding records, reports and information requests.Recognise the limits of own knowledge and seek guidance from colleagues or line managers when necessary.File, archive and securely store medical records and associated documentation in accordance with practice policies.Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, information governance and data security at all times, both within and outside the workplace.Support the wider administration team with general administrative duties as required.

Qualifications Essential
Essential criteria Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) English and Maths grade A to C
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 qualification in Business Administration, Customer Service, or an equivalent qualification. Experience using the IGPR system and processing medical record requests. Experience of managing and delivering a range of administrative processes within a busy office or healthcare environment. Experience processing Subject Access Requests (SARs), medical reports, or patient record documentation.
Experience Desirable
Experience of working within a GP practice or primary care setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
