About this role

Job summary

The candidate should have good communication and leadership skills. The ability to work within a busy team environment across 2 sites between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm.

Ability to manage reception area, telephone HUB, administration area and staff to ensure smooth running.

To answer busy telephone lines, to provide general assistance to patients and to the practice team as well as project a positive and friendly attitude.

To undertake general reception tasks & other administration duties.

Main duties of the job

To work within a telephone hub and front desk environment

To work along side a team of professional people

Problem solving

IT and Keyboard Skills

Ability to handle conflict

Co-ordinate leave entitlement/short notice absence/clinical availability

Update appointments systems/updates

Provide induction training and ongoing reviews for staff

Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept

Identifying gaps and areas of improvement

Liaise with management team concerning staffing and organisation of work

About us

We are a very busy practice which cares for a patient population of 13,000 patients

Our practice is led by 8 GP partners, 5 salaried GP's along with a full compliment of nursing, HCA and administration staff

We use SystemOne Clinical system

We are a training practice for Registrars, Medical Students and Student Nurses. We are also a research ready practice and actively take part in research.

Lead an effective and efficient reception and telephone service.

To be professional, courteous and efficient in a leadership capacity

Facilitate effective communication between patients, team members and clinical professionals

Schedule plan and chair meetings

Oversee weekly scheduled list and extension of clinical sessions on the computer

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical and management teams

Qualifications Essential

Good experience of general education Previous supervisory experience Handling of grievance/conflict Experience of using own initiative Experience of customer services/dealing with member of the public Practical experience of computerised recording systems Staff training and staff motivation Leadership skills Good communicator (verbal & written) IT Literate/Keyboard skills The ability of delegation & competence Willing to work flexible hours Planning and organising Able to perform under pressure Adaptable and able to work in a changing environment The ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team Has diplomacy and awareness of working conflict Pleasant and articulate

Desirable

Experience in primary/NHS/caring profession

Experience Essential

Good standard of general education Gains respect by example and leadership

Administrative qualifications An understanding of general practice reception/telephone environments
