There will be a requirement to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
We are ideally looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with demonstrable post registration experience with acute and/or Oncology/Haematology experience, who will thrive in our bespoke assessment unit .
We are in search of driven, compassionate and forward thinking nurses to join our team to support the cancer patient journey when they become unwell as a result of their treatment.
You must be adaptable, able to thrive under pressure, a great team player, be able to empathise and to remain professional and positive during challenging situations.
The role entails telephone triaging, assessing, planning and implementing care to acutely unwell patients. We have a 24hr triage line where patients undergoing treatments for their cancer diagnosis can call the line for advice and assessment. For the most, our patients will attend CTAU for a period of a few hours then are discharged home with a plan, some patients will be admitted directly to one of our cancer wards.
CTAU is open 7 days a week currently 7:30 am- 8 pm week days and 8am - 6pm weekends and BH (weekend and BH hours may change to make the week days in the future).
Winter hours are staggered and extended from 08.30 am - 9pm due to higher activity.
