Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the assessment and diagnostic process for autism and ADHD across our pathways. Duties will include gathering and analysing assessment information, undertaking school observations where needed and liaison, supporting developmental history interviews, administering and scoring psychometric measures and Qb tests, and contributing to diagnostic reports.
You will work closely with psychologists and other clinicians within a multidisciplinary team, participate in referral screening and case discussions, maintain accurate clinical records and databases, and support service improvement, audits and evaluation activities. The role requires effective communication with service users, families, schools and professionals, alongside strong organisational and report-writing skills.

At Evolve Psychology, we do things differently. Founded in 2014 by Dr Laura Powling, Evolve Psychology began with a bold aim to redefine what clinical and forensic psychology means in practice. The role

Youll join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people, and adults. Our service specialises in high-quality, evidence-based assessments for autism and ADHD, delivered through both NHS-funded referrals and private pathways. As part of your role, youll support the team in delivering comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, helping ensure timely, accurate information is gathered to inform diagnoses and enable the right support and interventions for clients and families.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting the multidisciplinary team in conducting face-to-face autism and ADHD assessments for children and adults. Undertaking Qb tests as part of ADHD assessments. Carrying out school calls and school observations and producing written reports following these tasks. Assisting with parental interviews to explore a young persons or clients developmental history in relation to autism and ADHD. Observing one-to-one play-based or activity sessions with young people. Effectively communicating with schools, professionals, parents, and young people. Scoring and interpreting psychometric assessments. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. Screening referrals Contributing to service evaluations and data audits. Developing key service communications for parents and young people. Maintaining service databases. Contributing to reports, including neurodevelopmental screening reports and full neurodevelopmental and cognitive assessment reports.Our Ways of Working:Digital workflows and smart report-writing reduce admin time and enhance clinical impact. Qualifications and experience
BPS Accredited Degree or post Graduate Qualification in Psychology Proven track record of high-quality record keeping and report writing Excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent organisational and time keeping skills and ability to meet deadlines linked to KPI's Experience of working with adults or children with neurodivergence, mental health difficulties and/or learning disability Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with service users/ families and young people in a supportive and empathic way. Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team and with wider professionals Ability to travel between locations as required by the role. Hold a full driving license with access to a car, as you will need to travel to schools for observations. Must be eligible to work in the UKDesirable Training and experience in neurodevelopmental assessment tools, such as: ADOS, ADI-R, Young-DIVA, Experience of contributing to autism and/ or ADHD assessments in children and young people/ adults. Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience working with children, young people and/or adults with neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health difficulties and/or learning disabilities. Experience of accurate record keeping and report writing. Experience communicating effectively with service users, families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals. Experience working within a team environment.
Desirable
Experience contributing to autism and/or ADHD assessments. Experience administering, scoring and interpreting psychometric assessments. Experience undertaking school observations and gathering developmental history information. Experience working within a multidisciplinary assessment service. Experience supporting service evaluation, audit or quality improvement activity.
Qualifications Essential
BPS-accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology or postgraduate qualification in Psychology. Eligibility to work in the UK. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel to schools.
Desirable
Training in neurodevelopmental assessment tools, including ADOS-2, ADI-R, Young DIVA or equivalent. Additional training relevant to autism, ADHD, learning disabilities or mental health.
