About this role

Job summary

This is a consultant post based at the North Middlesex Hospital within the Cardiology team. The job will comprise a mix of inpatient care and outpatient clinics. There will be considerable opportunity for service development and participation in clinical research as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We are looking for consultant physicians with experience of working in Cardiology, with a specific interest in Heart Failure, who can deliver excellent care to our patients and work with us to further develop our service to meet the needs of our population.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical care & leadership in outpatients 1 weekly Heart Failure clinic 2 general Cardiology clinics per week including supporting nurse led clinic Triage of incoming referrals on Cardiology pathways

Person Specification

Education & Professional Qualifications Essential

Full GMC registration MRCP or equivalent CCT or equivalenmt in Cardiology and on the specialist register, or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview

Desirable

MSc, MD or PHD

Skills and Aptitudes Essential

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients & relatives Strong teaching skills amd experience providing quality training and education Understanding of clinical governance Participation in clinical audit & understanding of quality improvement methodology Computer literate

Desirable

Effective organisational skills Evidence of leadership & management experience

Personal Qualities and attributes Essential

Ability to work within a multi-discplinary team Motivated, flexible & enthusiastic Ability to demonstrate initiative & see projects through to completion
