As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:

Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose. Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained. Assisting in regular checks and maintenance. Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings. Assisting in all decorating. Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects. Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance. Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks. To be successful in this role, you will:

Comply with system and procedures. Have previous experience within a maintenance role. Work effectively as part of a team and independently. Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service. Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings. Location: The Farndon Unit, Farndon Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 4SW

You will be working at the Farndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital that offers personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma-specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.

You will join the multidisciplinary team in providing specialist care for people with a diagnosis of severe and enduring Mental Health illness and/or Personality Disorder and/or mild Learning Disability.

The combination of general low secure wards and a recovery ward area (also within the low secure perimeter) provide a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering recovery and rehabilitation.

Qualifications Essential

Previous experience within a maintenance role is required. Ability to comply with systems and procedures, work both independently and as part of a team, and show courtesy and respect to residents is necessary. Participation in training sessions and staff meetings is also required.
