Fixed-Term Maternity Cover | Monday to Friday | Colchester, Clacton & Harwich

Are you an experiencedHealthcare Assistant (HCA) or Care Workerlooking for an opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist clinical service?

Our friendlyPodiatry Serviceis looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team on afixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.

You will work alongside our podiatrists, supporting patients in clinic and assisting with delegated clinical tasks, includingredressing and wound care. You will also have the opportunity to support our team duringhome visits, providing care to patients in their own homes.

The role will involve working across our clinics in Colchester, Clacton and Harwich, as well as supporting home visits.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are therefore essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

About the role

Our service supports patients of all ages with a wide range of foot health needs. These include, but are not limited to:

Diabetes-related foot problems

Vascular conditions

Wounds and wound care

Musculoskeletal conditions

Ingrowing toenails

A variety of other foot and lower-limb conditions

You will play an important role in supporting our podiatrists to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care to our patients.

About you

We are ideally looking for someone with previous experience as anHCA, Healthcare Support Worker or Care Workerwho is confident working with patients and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You should be:

Caring, compassionate and patient-focused

Reliable and well organised

Comfortable working independently as well as within a team

Willing to undertake delegated clinical duties following appropriate training and supervision

Able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues

Keen to develop your knowledge and experience within podiatry and wound care

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous general office experience Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information and data Experience of using Microsoft packages

Desirable

Previous secretarial support experience Experience in health care as an assistant

Qualifications Essential

Excellent numeracy and literacy Competent IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel

Desirable

ECDL or similar

Knowledge Essential

Knowledge of office administration and office equipment Knowledge of Microsoft packages, including diary management Understanding of patient needs and NHS Awareness of Health & Safety relevant to role Understanding of Information Governance
