Event Coordinator
Position Description: Plans, coordinates, publicizes, and implements special events, including social events, recognition celebrations, conferences, and meetings. Facilitates production of events by coordinating with performing groups, arranging publicity, and approving expenditures.

Major/Essential Functions: • Coordinate and assess events for parents and family members, including Family Weekend, Sibling Saturday, family-centered activities during Red Raider Orientation (RRO), and other family-centered activities and events. • Work with the Program Director to develop and maintain a budget for assigned events/program areas. • Facilitate event-related meetings and trainings for staff and volunteers. • Coordinate the Parent and Family Relations table at Undergraduate Admissions events and other information fair, tabling, or presentation opportunities. • Coordinate social media, marketing, and theme development for departmental events. • Identify and maintain campus partnerships for the purpose of hosting family-centered events. • Arrange space reservations, catering, giveaway items, grounds use, and staff and volunteer scheduling for departmental events. • Maintain the departmental event calendar and post events to the Texas Tech Events and AISS Events calendars. • Represent Parent and Family Relations on the AISS Events Committee.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent written communication, excellent interpersonal communication, attention to detail.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in planning and executing events.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
