Position Description: Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budget. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

About the Department and/or College: The ultimate goal of the Texas Tech Learning Center is to provide students with the resources needed to obtain academic independence and success. Through its peer-led services, the Learning Center facilitates a positive, supportive, and educational environment. Our innovative and creative programming inspire students to develop autonomous learning strategies best suited for their academic journey.
Major/Essential Functions: • Facilitates the scheduling of SI Sessions by reserving rooms, meets with new and returning SI Leaders to schedule review sessions, and creating documents (such as spreadsheets) to manage sessions. • Supervises the student assistants and manages the SI attendance process. • Updates attendance tracking processes as needed and checks student employee timesheets. • Trains student assistants with the program used to input attendance. • Schedules student assistant shifts to ensure adequate office coverage. • Coordinates the assessment process of mid-semester and end of semester surveys. • Distributes feedback to SI Leaders and other professional staff members. • Assigns student assistants and professional staff members classroom checks throughout the semester. • Coordinates student assistant training each semester to include the attendance management system (Raider Success Hub and Microsoft Forms), classroom checks, document uploads, attendance forms, etc. • Schedule and send e-mails to students in SI courses when SI Session are test preps (Raider Reviews). E-mails should be sent out using RaiderCanvas and/or e-mail to all students on the day of the Raider Review. • Supervises SI Leaders and student assistants. • Meets and evaluates SI Leaders and student assistant performance on a semester basis. • Assists the Program Director with the development and update of the SI website. • General AISS (Academic Innovation & Student Success), Learning Center, and Supplemental Instruction duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills. • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and benefits. • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision. • Skill in performing under the stress of frequent interruptions and distractions.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Three years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
