Job Summary: General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Project Planner to lead the planning and coordination of facilities, capital, renovation, and improvement projects from initiation through completion. This position is responsible for developing project plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with internal stakeholders and corporate partners, monitoring project progress and risks, and providing regular status updates. The successful candidate will help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and manage operational plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for construction, renovation, capital, and facility improvement projects. • Translate customer and organizational requirements into actionable project plans and coordinate projects from initiation through completion. • Serve as a liaison between program and project teams, internal stakeholders, and corporate partners, including Facilities, Telecom, EH&S, and Security. • Facilitate meetings and document and track decisions, action items, issues, risks, dependencies, and commitments through resolution. • Monitor project performance and provide regular status reports covering progress, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and recommended corrective actions. • Identify operational issues and coordinate solutions with program managers, project teams, stakeholders, and administrative service departments. • Coordinate operating procedures and integrated processes that support organizational and business objectives. • Conduct reviews of project costs, service structures, productivity, delivery methods, and performance to achieve planned targets. • Coordinate small expense projects, including audio-visual upgrades, signage, space plan changes, and similar facility improvements. • Support occupancy reporting, space planning, and limited event-planning activities. • Participate in the recruitment, retention, and development of personnel as needed to support business objectives. • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications: • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, along with at least six years of progressively complex experience in project administration and operations in an engineering or scientific environment. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. • Must demonstrate expertise of project planning and scheduling, as well as monitoring and reporting on these activities. • Experience planning, coordinating, and executing construction, renovation, capital, facilities, or other facility improvement projects is preferred. • Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders and corporate service organizations, such as Facilities, Telecom, EH&S, Security, or similar functions, is preferred. • Experience preparing project status reports, identifying risks and issues, tracking mitigation activities, and communicating project performance to management is required. • Experience in organizational and operational problem resolution is required. • Familiarity with occupancy reporting, space planning, event coordination, audio-visual upgrades, signage, and other small facility improvement projects is preferred. • Strong leadership, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also required as well as the ability to interpret and explain complex operational issues. • Must be able to facilitate meetings, document decisions and action items, and coordinate follow-up across multiple organizations. • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments while meeting established deadlines. • Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required. • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance may be required.
