Position Summary: This job is responsible for supporting data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses. Key responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing portfolio trends, supporting the development of more complex databases or queries to extract data, and supporting the production of data for internal and external reporting needs. Job expectations include working with Technology to implement changes necessary to support ongoing data needs. The Consumer and Small Business Credit Risk Data, Reporting, and Operations team delivers repeatable, sustainable, and well-controlled processes that support effective risk management across Consumer and Small Business products, including Credit Cards, Home Loans, Consumer Vehicle Lending, Deposits, and Small Business solutions. Our team partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to provide data-driven insights, produce reporting solutions, and support continuous process improvements that enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and risk oversight to meet evolving business needs while maintaining strong governance and control standards.
Responsibilities:
• Supports the development and execution of reporting to allow Risk and business partners to effectively identify and manage risk • Analyzes trends and supports the data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics to ensure alignment with business strategies • Provides analytical support on various product strategic initiatives affecting multiple Risk functions and lines of business to ensure company goals are met • Participates in the development of database production processes and performance reports for senior management, using data mining and other advanced analytical techniques to aggregate data • Supports with responding to complex ad-hoc requests for information from both internal and external parties • Provides support on cross-functional efforts to remediate data quality issues • Monitors the outputs of controls and investigates alerts from the control checks • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain production-critical credit risk data, reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions that support risk management and business decision-making. • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned data and reporting processes, metrics, and business requirements. • Lead complex data extraction, transformation, and validation activities across various systems and datasets to ensure consistency, reliability, and fitness for use. • Design and implement end-to-end reporting processes, control frameworks, and monitoring routines that improve scalability, repeatability, and operational effectiveness. • Perform complex portfolio and trend analysis, identify key risk drivers, and communicate actionable insights to business partners and leadership. • Lead enhancement initiatives by partnering with technology teams and stakeholders to define requirements, implement solutions, and improve data and reporting capabilities. • Conduct root cause analysis for reporting issues, data quality concerns, and process breakdowns while developing sustainable corrective actions. • Support regulatory, governance, audit, and control activities through strong understanding of reporting methodologies, data lineage, and risk management requirements.
Required Skills: • Bachelor's degree • 2+ years of Reporting/Data Management experience • Strong SAS, SQL, Tableau, or other BI tool experience • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to perform and enhance data QA, audit-level validations, and governance controls • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions • Experience translating business requirements into reporting and data solutions • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and independently solve complex business problems • Strong understanding of data structures, metrics, and reporting methodologies Desired Skills: • Consumer Credit Risk experience (Credit Card, Home Loans, CVL, Deposits, Small Business) • Experience designing and implementing reporting or data management solutions • Data lineage, metadata management, or data governance experience • Regulatory reporting or audit engagement exposure • Advanced Tableau, Power BI, or reporting visualization experience • Experience leading reporting enhancement initiatives • Root cause analysis and issue management experience • Change management and process optimization experience • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions • Experience mentoring junior analysts • Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks • Experience identifying and implementing automation opportunities
