What impact you’ll make
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering Team, you'll offer technical assistance for gas turbine product refurbishment in production. Your role extends to guiding Production Specialists and Cell Leaders as a technical leader. By continually refining processes and costs, you'll uphold our Service Center's competitiveness and deliver outcomes that meet customer expectations.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to drive closure of jobs within special processes.
• Maintain the materials distributed to the job as per the Master Router.
• Planning and implementing and improving repair procedures.
• Identify, lead and implement projects that improve overall production, safety, quality and cost.
• Overall responsibility for process development and documentation, completion and correctness according qualification requirements.
• Work with the Product Owners to define and improve product/process qualifications in repair.
• Analyze problems, in process inspections, internal corrective actions, as necessary, to improve overall quality systems and scrap control.
• Support Root Cause Analysis RCA's & Corrective and Preventive Action CAPA plans for external defects.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline — or equivalent hands-on engineering experience
• Familiarity with multiple gas turbine platforms (e.g., GE 7F, 9F, LM2500 or equivalent)
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with production teams, sharing technical knowledge to achieve shared operational goals
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Preferred
• Familiarity with special process requirements (e.g., coatings, welding, heat treatment) relevant to gas turbine components. Working knowledge of Lean methodologies and proven track record of applying Lean principles in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience developing or qualifying repair procedures in an aerospace, power generation, or industrial gas turbine context.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and propose structured improvement solutions
• Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable production or process outcomes
