Consulting Services, a part of GE Vernova, offers our global clients (external & internal GE Vernova) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization.

As part of an experienced team of consultants, the Integrated Systems Director will develop techno-economic power system projects focused on integrating GE Vernova technology and service offerings for our clients. We are looking for an established self-driven leader who combines strong consulting and business development skills with a track record of delivering world-class services and outcomes for clients.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of integrated cross-GE Vernova system solutions for complex electrification projects, collaborating with key stakeholders across GE Vernova businesses to optimize and enhance the customer value proposition of the solution.

• Develop a reference systems-wide solutions architecture for complex power projects, creating technical and commercial cross-GE Vernova processes that govern the delivery of comprehensive solutions for key customer segments. This architecture will form the foundation for executing large-scale electrification projects across GE Vernova.

• Build, grow and maintain executive presence and customer, stakeholder and partner relationships to enable and shape pathways for the energy transformation. Understand forward-looking system needs and guide techno-economic system-wide solutions of technology development and deployment, holistic integrated and interregional planning & operations, and investment in new tools, models, methods and metrics that will enable and accelerate the energy transformation.

• Support business development and growth of CS by expanding world class advisory service offerings in power systems integration and techno-economic studies for large, complex hybrid mega-projects and other focus areas within CS, complementing GE Vernova’s position as a global leader in the energy transition.

• Build, grow and maintain executive presence and relationships with GE Vernova Engineering Product Management, Advanced Research Center, Financial Services, Global Policy and Sustainability teams across GE Vernova to contribute to strategic technology roadmap and plans for grid and energy systems integration.

• Utilize deep knowledge of the industry sector and the competitive landscape to understand and communicate the latest developments and dynamics in market conditions and the potential impact on GE Vernova businesses or the customer ecosystem. Lead in-depth analysis with interpretative thinking to define problems and develop innovate system-wide and company-wide solutions.

• Actively lead, shape and participate in industry leadership & tech forums (i.e. ESIG, GPST, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, etc.) and multi-national intergovernmental collaboratives (G20/B20/T20, G7, UN, COP & CEM) to increase exposure to GE Vernova & Consulting Services, focus on growing EPT and chart the course for the energy transition. Support and drive the Thought Leadership initiative for Consulting Services, coordinating and shaping industry presence.

• Support the development and growth of a global talent pool of experts in techno-economic and energy systems integration subjects across all practice areas and regions in the organization.

• Actively participate in strategic planning and development of GE Vernova product & service offerings and new product/technology introductions (NPI/NTI) concurrent with business needs, with particular focus and influence on systems interoperability, stability and integration in collaboration with CS SLT.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power generation and/or energy industry with global roles including responsibility for project management, client engagement and business development.

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

• 3+ years of experience applying an in-depth understanding of data center power supply requirements, electrical demand profiles, and grid integration risks. Must possess a clear understanding of hyperscaler and co-locator development cycles, including growth trajectories and infrastructure deployment gaps.

• 3+ years of experience in power and energy systems engineering, specifically regarding techno-economic system analysis and high-IBR (Inverter-Based Resource) penetration. Must demonstrate proficiency in the following :

• Systems Planning: Strategic planning for 100% decarbonization and advanced grid automation/control. • Cross-Sector Integration: Coordinating complex cross-technology integration and power transfer capabilities. • Advanced Stability Analysis: Proficiency in voltage and frequency stability, first-swing dynamics, sub-synchronous oscillations, and transient voltage recovery. • System Protection & Transients: Expertise in harmonics, system transients, insulation coordination, and the application of series-compensated transmission.

Desired Characteristics

• Advanced degree in electrical, mechanical or electric power engineering or business administration (MBA) from an accredited university of college. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams to high value technical solutions. • Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to effectively communicate across all levels from CEOs to individual contributors) and exceptionally strong written and oral communication. • Demonstrated and established professional relationships and credibility with key industry executives, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Technology Officers, government leaders and officials, with a track record of industry leadership and collaboration to drive results across industry leadership. • Widely recognized and awarded global industry stature and leadership in industry institutions (ESIG, GPST, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE) with prolific publication in technical articles and journals, technical and institutional standards and technical regulatory requirements. • Extensive understanding of control concepts for grid-interactive power systems equipment and controls, such as automatic voltage regulators, power system stabilizers, SVC, STATCOM, TCSC, STATCOM, HVDC and awareness of/demonstrated influence over technology trends in power equipment. • Extensive understanding of power electronic hardware and controls for utility and industrial applications such as SVC, TCSC, STATCOM, HVDC, wind turbines, solar and energy storage inverters, variable speed pumped hydropower storage and motor drives. • Extensive understanding and experience in planning and executing electrical and mechanical tests in thermal and renewable power plants to meet grid code and interconnection requirements and validating utility planning models per requirements from NERC and other global jurisdictions. • Extensive understanding and experience in utility transmission and generation techno-economic planning, interconnection and operations practices, grid code compliance, markets and regulatory standards for power system performance. • Demonstrated technical leadership in creating winning proposals and managing delivery of large projects. • Experience with using and modeling in power system simulation and analytical tools such as GE PSLF, PSS/e, DigSilent Power Factory, GE MAPS, GE MARS, Plexos, Promod, Tara, TSAT, PSCAD and Python • LEAN skillsets/certification.

Application Deadline: For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
