About this role

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

• Install, wire, and trim out head-end access control panels with clean and professional workmanship • Install and service a wide range of electrified door hardware including items such as panic devices, vertical rods, magnetic locks, transfer hinges, cylindrical/mortise locks, auto operators. • Configure, program and integrate security and access control systems • Install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and testing on various types of cable and equipment. • Pulls cables through physical structures such as walls, overhead, above drop ceilings and in ground. • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project teams on completion of access control and low voltage projects • Installation and removal of equipment which may include projectors, projector screens, speakers, podium equipment, cameras and any other type of audio-visual equipment • Maintain accurate documentation, work order notes and communications for all tickets and projects, both verbally and in writing. • May have to move on site equipment, tools, furniture, etc. above 50 lbs. • May have to maneuver around small areas such as attics, crawl hatches, etc. for cabling. • May have to climb ladders, work on power lifts, or climb scaffolding to complete work orders. • Must be able to distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals. • Adhere to all quality and safety codes for low voltage installations and repairs. • Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility

• Ability to test and identify equipment and cable functionality. • Familiar with Wiegand, OSDP, and other forms of access control communication. • Able to operate required hand tools, power tools and low voltage test equipment. • Must be able to work on ladders, lifts and scaffolding for installation needs. • Must have good hand dexterity and calmness. • Must be able to distinguish colors. • Able to troubleshoot malfunction in equipment or cable and problem solve. • Must be able to complete work orders timely and accurately. • Effective communications and interpersonal skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.

Experience/ Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Minimum 2 years’ work experience with access control and low voltage related work. Preferred in an environment such as an AV integrator, access control technicians or commercial cabling firms. • Experience with Lenel, Verkada, Axis, Allegion, Assa Abloy is preferred • Experience with troubleshooting and installing electrified door hardware • Experience with RS485, Weigand and OSDP wiring • CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification is a bonus. • Must have a current AZ driver’s license and clean driver record. • Must successfully pass a background check.
