About this role
Join the Zivid team!
Zivid is one of Norway's most ambitious technology companies, building the 3D vision and motion-planning software that give robots human-like sight and judgment. Our Zivid 2+ and Zivid 3 cameras deliver industry-leading accuracy — even on black, shiny, or transparent objects — and with Zivid Motion, our real-time, collision-aware motion-planning software, we're one of very few companies in the world delivering vision and motion together as a single platform. We serve the global robotics and automation market from six countries with 100+ employees, a global customer base, and we're accelerating our growth and impact in the US.
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and customer-oriented Strategic Sales Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive success with new and existing customers. This role is pivotal in blending commercial ambition and drive with passion for technology within an invigorating scale-up environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Why this role exists: to turn Zivid's 3D vision and motion technology into revenue and market share across US-East — deepening our most valuable existing accounts while building the pipeline that establishes Zivid as the standard in the region.
As a Strategic Sales Manager at Zivid, you will play a crucial role in driving adoption of our state-of-the-art 3D vision technology. Your passion for customer impact, expertise in technical sales and a deep understanding of our products will enable you to develop strategic relationships with key customers, understand their technical requirements, and provide solutions that meet their needs. Working closely together with Zivid Application Engineers is crucial; our team’s ability to solve customer challenges and secure projects is key to your success. You will act as a crucial link between global sales and the leadership team ensuring customer needs are at the forefront of our product development.
SCOPE AND TERRITORY
For this role, the scope will be two-fold. You will be our account lead towards some of our existing customers where you will be managing our day-by-day business, following up on existing engagements as well as developing and securing additional projects. This will be done by actively collaborating with and leveraging all available resources, including HQ and regional FAE. Secondly you will be responsible for developing our footprint and adoption in the US-East region. This includes acquiring new customers as well as developing and growing existing accounts.
The role reports to US VP Sales & Marketing and with a dot-line reporting to SVP Global Sales.
OUTCOMES FOR THE FIRST 12 MONTHS
You'll be evaluated on these outcomes — not on hours logged or activities completed.
• Existing accounts: Secure 20+ renewal/expansion projects and grow existing US-East account revenue by 25%, working closely with HQ and regional applications engineers.
• New logos: Build and progress a qualified pipeline of new US-East accounts, converting at least 30+ into Design Wins or Pilot Wins.
• Voice of the customer: Establish a working rhythm with Application Engineering and HQ so customer requirements translate into solutions delivered on schedule — no dropped threads.
• Market presence: Put Zivid 2+, Zivid 3, and Zivid Motion in front of 20+ new integrators and OEMs in the region through direct outreach, demos, and industry events.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must-have
• Proven track record carrying and exceeding a sales quota in technical or industrial B2B sales (3+ years), ideally in automation, robotics, machine vision, or capital equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to run complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from qualification to close.
• Comfort working hands-on with technical teams to translate customer requirements into solutions.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Boston area or another automation hub in US-East.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including periodic trips to Oslo, Norway.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice-to-have
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• Direct experience selling 3D imaging, robotics, or machine vision products.
• Existing network among robotics integrators, OEMs, or automation end users in US-East.
• Experience selling into a scale-up or high-growth environment.
WHAT’S HARD ABOUT THIS ROLE
You'll be building the US-East territory largely from scratch — there's no established playbook waiting for you, and some weeks will be more prospecting than closing. You'll represent a small Norwegian company most American buyers haven't heard of yet, so you'll do real work to earn credibility before you earn the deal. And because we're a lean, hands-on team, you won't have layers of support to lean on — when something needs to get done, it's often you who does it. If you want a mature brand, a warm book of business, and a big SDR team feeding you leads, this isn't that role. If you want to build something and be the reason it works, it is.
WE OFFER
• A pivotal role in a rapidly growing scale-up with international scope
• Significant autonomy and career development opportunities
• Exposure to cutting-edge 3D vision and robotics technology
• The chance to build a US region from the ground up
