About this role

Job Title: Communications Resident

Reports To: The Communications Resident will report to the Communications Director

Job Overview: The Communications Resident will support Hill City Church’s objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together, we love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. As a resident, you will serve as a creative engine for the Communications team to inform, equip and inspire the people of Hill City. You will also gain experience in project management, photography, videography, social media, leadership and much more. This resident position will also assist in equipping, training, and sending members of Hill City Church into our community and world to make disciples.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Sunday Responsibilities:

• Media capture (photo, video, sermon video, IG stories, etc.)

• Assist Hill City staff as needed

Communications Team: 80%

• Assist in the strategic planning processes of the Communications team

• Assist in church-wide communication needs

• Sermon series promotion, special campaigns promotion, and other various projects

• Assist in specific ministry communication needs

• HCKids, Light Company, Salt Company, The Commons, Global, etc.

• Collaborate with the C-Team in weekly rhythms of content creation

• Sermon reels, social media, photo editing, video editing

• Invest in C-Team interns and creative university members alongside C-Team staff

• Complete various creative requests and projects as assigned by Communications Director

Resident Development: 20%

• Create and complete personalized development plan

• Participate in weekly team meetings, 1-on-1's, and scheduled meetings

• Creation of and semi-annual evaluation of 6-month plan

• Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or other relevant experience in photography, videography, and/or graphic design

• Track record in serving through the local church

• Organized, self-driver who is able to take general direction and produce results

• Become a Covenant Member or remain in good standing as a Covenant Member of Hill City Church

Hill City's Residency Program Mission & Vision:

Hill City’s Residency Program exists to train, equip and send leaders to serve the Church.

The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
