About this role

Job Title: Worship Resident

Reports To: The Worship Resident will report to the Senior Worship Director

Job Overview: The Worship Team Resident will support Hill City Church’s objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together, we love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. As a resident, you will gain experience in leading worship in various settings as well as running production efforts. This resident position will also assist in training, equipping and sending members of Hill City Church into our community and world to share the gospel.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Sunday Responsibilities:

• Assist worship and production teams

• Serve on the worship team

• Assist HC staff as needed

• Connect with the church body before and after gatherings

Salt Company Worship: 35%

• Invest in Salt Company Worship team

• Onboarding and training of new worship team members

• Check-ins, meetings needs they have, support, encouragement, coordination, mentoring/discipleship, critiques

• Salt Company Worship Coordination with Salt and Worship Directors

• Scheduling of team members (Rehearsals, Midweeks, etc.)

• Logistics and planning (airwars)

• Special event production, planning, and creative (i.e. Fall Conference, Salt Conference, etc.)

• Salt Company Worship Recruitment with Worship Director

• Meet and recruit new worship team members

• Help assimilate new team members into the life and ministry of HC

Gatherings: 35%

• Work with Senior Director of Worship in preparing Sunday gatherings each week

• Assist in planning of monthly Gathering Team events

• Assist Gatherings Staff on planning and execution of Holiday Gatherings (Advent, Good Friday, Easter, etc.)

• Assist in getting resources to Gathering Team members as needed

• Coordinate Sunday morning gathering elements as needed

• Leadership Development

• Weekly meeting with Senior Director of Worship

• Work with the Senior Director of Worship on additional projects as needed (recordings, implementation of new ideas, etc.)

Light Company Worship: 5%

• Assist Light Co. staff in planning and coordinating Worship for Light Co. midweeks and events

• Assist in recruitment and training of Light Co. worship team members

• Lead in planning song schedule

The Commons Worship: 5%

• Assist in the planning and implementation of worship and production at The Commons midweek gatherings.

• Assist in recruitment and training of The Commons worship team members

• Lead in planning song schedule

Resident Requirements: 20%

• Create and complete personalized development plan

• Participate in weekly team meetings, 1-on-1's, and scheduled meetings

• Creation of and semi-annual evaluation of 6-month plan

• Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or applicable experience

• Track record in serving through the local church, specifically in worship ministry

• Organized, self-driver who is able to take general direction and produce results

• Competent as both a vocalist and instrumentalist within the worship context

• Become a Covenant Member or remain in good standing as a Covenant Member of Hill City Church

Hill City's Residency Program Mission & Vision:

Hill City’s Residency Program exists to train, equip and send leaders to serve the Church.

The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
