About this role

About Hedrick Brothers Construction

Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction (HBC) is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. For over 47 years, we have delivered hospitality, multifamily, industrial, healthcare, and public-sector projects throughout Florida, ranging from $5M to $160M. Our culture is built on our GRIT values: Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Team.

The Opportunity

The Project Manager provides leadership, planning, and oversight to ensure project success while delivering HBC's processes with quality, integrity, and profitability. As a Project Manager II, you independently lead mid-size projects of increasing complexity and are accountable for project outcomes.

What You'll Do

Project Leadership & Financial Ownership

• Accept ultimate responsibility for project success — quality assurance, safety, financial performance, and owner satisfaction — and for the harmonious performance of the project team.

• Scope: independently lead projects in the $15M–$30M range, carrying full responsibility for the outcome.

• Manage the budget, schedule, contracts, plans, and specifications for assigned project(s) in Procore.

• Provide monthly cost projections and progress reports showing baseline vs. actual and critical path.

• Review and approve all field cost expenditures.

• Manage PCOs, CORs, change orders, CCAs, ACAs, direct material purchases, bonds, submittals, RFIs, pay requests, and warranties as required.

Preconstruction & Buyout

• Partner with the preconstruction team on cost estimating, subcontractor participation, value engineering, constructability, and owner proposal preparation.

• Develop complete trade partner and material supplier scopes of work.

• Negotiate, create, and process subcontracts and purchase orders.

Schedule, Quality & Safety

• Develop and maintain the project schedule and monitor and maintain project safety and quality standards throughout.

• Manage the project punch list aggressively.

• Coordinate with the Virtual Design & Construction team on clash detection, constructability, and layout and routing.

• Directly supervise the Superintendent(s), Assistant Project Manager, Project Administrator, trade partners, and vendors.

Closeout & Client Relationships

• Follow all company procedures for project plan, job setup, maintenance, and closeout.

• Close out the project financially and update accounting cost reports within 30 days of final inspection.

• Conduct a warranty walk-through 10 months after substantial completion.

• Maintain positive communication with office, owner, architect, and inspectors, and perform warranty-period follow-up — with the goal that every client would build with HBC again and refer us.

What You Bring to the Role

Experience & Education

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.

• First Aid / CPR preferred.

• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.

Skills & Attributes

• Requires sufficient vision, hearing, mobility, and dexterity to safely perform job duties.

What We Offer
