Your Company: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Poole. Working closely with finance, operations, production, and supply chain teams, you will help drive profitability, improve costing processes, and deliver valuable financial insight across the business.
Key Responsibilities: While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to: Managing the end-to-end product costing process across all manufactured productsMaintaining and reviewing standard costs, ensuring they accurately reflect manufacturing operationsPreparing detailed cost variance analysis and investigating material, labour, and overhead variancesProducing regular commercial and financial reports to support senior management decision-makingPartnering closely with production, operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing performance and identify cost-saving opportunitiesSupporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activitiesMonitoring inventory valuations and assisting with stock reconciliations and physical inventory countsAssisting with month-end management accounts, including manufacturing cost analysis and journal preparationReviewing manufacturing processes to identify efficiencies and improve cost control measuresSupporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance and manufacturing functionsEnsuring financial controls and costing procedures remain accurate and compliant with company policiesProviding financial analysis and commercial insight to support new product development and operational projects What You Will Need to Apply: The successful candidate will have previous experience within a Cost Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar finance role within a manufacturing environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting and product costingA solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production operationsExperience preparing commercial reporting, financial analysis, and management informationExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trendsStrong knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysisAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP or manufacturing finance systemsExcellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across finance and operational teamsA proactive and detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skillsA relevant accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or qualified by experience would be advantageous What You Will Receive in Return: A highly competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum is available for the successful candidate, depending on experience.
