English Valleys CSD is based out of North English, Iowa, which is 15 minutes South of I-80 and approx. 30 minutes West of Iowa City. We are looking for a JH Girls Track Coach for the Spring 2027 Season. The ideal candidate would love track, influencing young women, and have a positive attitude for a program with lots of potential. A Junior High Girls Track Coach manages, organizes, and leads track and field activities to teach young athletes the fundamentals of the sport while building good character and sportsmanship.
Job Goal: Teach fundamental track skills, physical conditioning, and safety while fostering teamwork, self-discipline, and pride in accomplishment.
Key Responsibilities
• Practice Planning: Design and run daily practices focused on conditioning, running form, and event techniques (sprints, distance, hurdles, and field events).
• Meet Supervision: Attend all track meets, organize event lineups, and supervise students during travel and competition.
• Player Development: Provide positive, individual feedback to help athletes improve and set personal improvement goals.
• Safety and Rules: Enforce health and safety rules, manage basic injury prevention, and maintain valid CPR and concussion certifications.
• Equipment Care: Keep an inventory of uniforms, track equipment, and starting gear, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
