Position Overview Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School (PK–5). Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Massachusetts DESE regulations and IDEA. Deliver services in inclusive, co-teaching, small-group, and/or individual settings as outlined in student IEPs. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, paraeducators, and families to support student progress. Implement evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications. Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals; participate in team meetings and IEP development as appropriate. Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social-emotional and academic needs of all learners. Fulfill all duties of a classroom/special education teacher, including lesson planning, assessment, communication with families, and professional responsibilities. Qualifications Valid Massachusetts teaching license (or eligibility) in Elementary Moderate Disabilities (PreK–5) other appropriate special education licenses considered. Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs preferred. Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
