About this role
The General Education Paraeducator assists teachers in providing instructional and classroom support to students. The paraeducator works under the direction of licensed staff to help create a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction, activities, and supervision.
• Provide academic and organizational support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Monitor student behavior and help maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and organization.
• Provide supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school matters.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, students, families, and staff.
• Follow school district policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or supervising teacher.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and needs.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates patience, flexibility, dependability, and a positive attitude.
